“You think too much”, my friends often say when I come up with a new theory that i've been thinking about for days. how great would it be if I could put these thoughts away in a drawer? i started the project with this basic idea in mind. my idea was to combine different storage options with silhouettes of faces. i started by sketching out different ideas with a fineliner, without thinking too much about them, and then digitally realised them in illustrator. the style of the artist Yves Netzhammer, especially his publication “concave thoughts”, served as a reference and inspiration. i liked the surrealistic, simplified aesthetic, so i decided to work in black and white for my project. in a final step, i adjusted the individual images so that the line width and proportion of black in the illustrations were equivalent. in the end, i created a series of seven different figures.
