in this project we had to invent an exoplanet and visualise it in two different media. marion rothmund and i were very inspired by old encyclopaedias. gradually we came to the subject of crystals and started growing some ourselves and doing analogue experiments with them. the encyclopaedia is the final result and includes a guided tour of the planet – from near to far. finally, we wanted to include the “sphen”, our light beings, in the encyclopaedia. the result was an experimental riso booklet as a supplement, in which we printed illustrations of the light installation.
