When you’re strange

The work is based on a peculiar ambivalence: an irrational fear of eyes, which simultaneously transforms into a deep fascination. Starting from this tension, a collection of idiosyncratic, sometimes absurd fears was gathered through conversations with people in the surrounding environment. The results are manifested in illustrations on mezzotint cardboard, accompanied by text fragments that create a multifaceted visual world. The representation intentionally remains ambiguous – between repulsion and attraction, the familiar and the uncanny, as a poetic image of the elusive nature of human emotions.
